Dave started in the aviation industry with British Caledonian undertaking a range of roles within Cargo Finance before becoming responsible for the development of both Cargo and Passenger Revenue Accounting automation projects.
He then worked in the Cargo General Sales Agency world initially with Aircontact representing USAir and Dan-Air before joining AMG and becoming Operations and Revenue Director. AMG worked with a wide range of carriers, including GB Airways, Airtours, British Mediterranean and cargo operator Avient. Responsibilities included managing the offices in Orlando, Casablanca and Gibraltar. Recent years has involved further work in aviation software development and sales and in Cargo management within North Africa.
Ben started in Aviation as a student at college, where he gained a BTEC National Diploma in Airline and Airport Operations achieving a Merit Distinction in the course.
He started his work career as a check in agent for Swissport at Gatwick airport before undertaking roles as a turn-around co-ordinator and an operations assistant. Ben then joined Astreaus Airlines as an operations controller.
After the demise of Astraeus Airlines in 2011, he moved on to become a Flight Dispatcher for Execujet based at Cambridge airport, thereafter joining TAG aviation in Farnborough as a Flight Dispatcher.
Alex started in aviation with Ogden Allied at Gatwick airport, who were subsequently bought out by Servisair. Undertaking a range of roles, starting in Passenger Services then moving on to Dispatch and Operations, Stand planning was a challenging at times, as they had 90% of the business at Gatwick Airport.
Her final position with Servisair was in the ramp planning department, who were responsible for producing rosters for approximately 330 ramp staff.
Alex was recruited by Menzies Aviation as Operations and dispatch supervisor within the start-up team for the implementation of a new station at Gatwick. It was a demanding challenge to start a station from scratch in 9 weeks. In 2008 she joined Wings24 and has been involved in many exciting projects, the most recent being the Singapore air show where we arranged all the logistics for a national aerobatic display team.
Trevor started in aviation in 1988 with British Air Ferries which later became British World Airlines as a crewing assistant, progressed to Crewing and Rostering officer where he remained for around 10 years.
BAF was a charter operator dealing with both passenger and cargo operations on Vickers Viscount and Handley Page Herald aircraft. Notable operations during his time with BAF were Paris/Dakar rally support flights, Prime Ministerial Tours along with Royal European visits.
Following a time with Navtech flight support, creating a Rostering/Crewing section to complement their flight support functions, Trevor moved to Flyjet based at Gatwick, which was bought out by Silverjet, the discounted First Class service to USA. Here he was responsible for all aspects of flight operations from flight conception to departure. Trevor Joined Chapman Freeborn as an ACMI broker moving to Wings24 as Ops supervisor in 2009
Derek’s life in aviation began in 1979 when he joined the Royal Air Force as an Air Movements Operator. A 35 year career followed culminating in becoming a senior Warrant Officer, responsible for all matters operational. His experience ranges from planning and loading many types of cargo aircraft, to planning aircraft loads and routes throughout the world. Derek spent 3 years as RAF Liaison Officer at Calgary Airport in Alberta, Canada. Not only responsible for all matters relating to military and MOD charter aircraft operating through Calgary, but also for all Canadian airports. Responsible for parking, handling, catering, fuelling, Hotac and transport for crew and passengers as required.
From a young age James always had a keen interest in aviation and a strong family background in the aviation industry, in 2008 as part of school work experience he completed a week with a UK cargo airline and after this week knew that the aviation industry was to be his chosen career, after researching the college courses on offer he chose Aviation Operations. In July 2011 James graduated and in October 2011 joined Wings24 where he has learnt and developed his skills and knowledge with the help of the Wings 24 team.
Diane started her aviation career in the freight forwarding industry working for Jardines being promoted to Supervisor in their export department before becoming Operations Manager at Exel Freight, now part of DHL. Diane qualified as a Security Administrator and provided DFT security awareness training.
Diane then moved into the airline world, holding positions as Duty Operations Officer for Air Atlanta Europe and Cargo Operator, MK Airlines. Her role involved liaising with overseas stations to ensure fuelling, prompt loading and unloading , liaison with local ATC’s and providing crew and weather briefings. She joined Wings 24 in 2010.
Sam started in aviation with Dan-Air in 1989 in Crewing, then working in Rostering and Flight Crew Training before moving to GECAT Flight Training centre where she was a facilities scheduler. Sam then joined Caledonian Airways working in Crewing, Pre-Ops and Rostering. When Caledonian Airways & Flying Colours merged to form JMC Airlines, Sam spent 2 winter seasons in Chicago with the leased aircraft assisting Ryan Aviation//Apple Group with Crew Scheduling.
From there she spent 2 years with Navtech and then moved to a new start up airline, Flyjet, in Operations and flight planning before joining Avient Cargo Airlines This role also included permit, handling and fuel requests. When Operations relocated, she spent several months training new staff in all aspects of Operations & crew scheduling.
